Aadavallu Meeku Joharlu has been promoted a lot in the last few days. The film starring Sharwa and Rashmika has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.
Story
Chiru(Sharwa) is born and brought up in a joint family. As he is the only male child, everyone pampers him a lot. But Chiru falls in love with Aadhya(Rashmika) who follows her mother(Khushboo) blindly and is forced not to believe in marriage. In such a situation, what will Chiru do? How will he convince Aadhya’s mom? did he impress the ladies? To know the answer, you need to watch the film on the big screen.
Plus Points
When it comes to fun roles, Sharwa has always done well. Even in the presence of so many noted actresses, Sharwa makes his presence felt and gives a good performance. His comedy timing and body language are quite good in the film. Vennela Kishore evokes good laughs in a few scenes.
Rashmika plays a subdued character in the film and is mostly dull. But towards the end, she manages to do well. The film is flooded with character artists and among them, Urvashi gets a good role and emotes nicely. Radhika and the other supporting cast are ok.
Khushboo gets a meaty role and does well as Rashmika’s mom. The romantic track between Sharwa and Rashmika evokes a few laughs in the first half. The emotions in the climax are okay.
Minus Points
There is absolutely no novelty in the storyline. A boy falling for a girl, who does not want to get married because of her mother’s past, such a plot is ages old. The only difference here is the presence of some noted actors in key roles.
There is no chemistry between Sharwa and Rashmika and their bond looks weak throughout the film. The love story is half-baked and should have been elevated more to make things effective in the second half.
The presence of so many ladies in the film also does not create much impact as actors like Radhika have nothing much to do. The film is filled with so many predictable scenes and you exactly know what is going to happen. Novelty-wise, there is nothing new and the key emotions of Khushboo and Rashmika look forced.
Technical Aspects
Music by DSP is quite good and all the songs have also been shot well. Dialogues are decent and so was the production design. Editing is okay but the BGM was routine. Camera work is just about okay and so were the production values.
Coming to the director Kishore Tirumala, he has done a passable job with the film. His story is ages old but he narrated it in a fun manner in the first half.
But the second falls flat as Kishore did not establish the key characters of Khushboo well to elevate the emotions.
A key character like Rashmika and her conflict in life is not brought out well. Kishore Tirumala has made sure that he touches key aspects of this family drama in a simple manner so that the audience does not get bored.
Verdict
On the whole, Aadavallu Meeku Joharlu is a passable family drama that has some decent moments. While the story and narration are ages old, the comedy, songs, and few emotions make this film worth a shot. But goes in with minimal expectations and enjoys the popular star cast.
